2nd to 6th GRADE FAITH FORMATION

Note from Father Neil

Our program is named “Holy Family Formation” to express how the Holy Spirit is and has been working both in the program over these years, as well as in the family life of our participants.

The Holy Spirit upholds and inspires all that we do, and it is that same Spirit that leads us to imitate and emulate the greatest family of all - the Holy Family of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.  Certainly without Mary, Joseph would’ve been lost; without her Yes to God’s plan, our Lord would not have come into the world to save us.  The family is the core of education in our faith.  It is where we all first learn to Love God with all our hearts, minds, and souls, and our neighbor as ourselves.  The family is necessary for the transmission of the Faith.

Note from Tina, Director of Faith Formation

This is our second year using Spirit of Truth curriculum for the Holy Family Formation Program (2nd -6th grade). This curriculum covers the Catechism in a rich and age-appropriate way. Spirit of Truth is better than our previous curriculums because the lessons are orderly; faith builds on faith. This program is set apart from what we’ve done in the past in that there is a workbook with beautiful sacred art reflections, stories of the saints, fun games, critical thinking questions and no lessons at home.

Your engagement with this new program for 2nd-6th grade Family Formation will look like:

  • First Wednesday: Parents and students on campus with dinner provided (Mary’s Dinner + Jesus Time): 6:15-7:45pm.

  • Second or Fifth Wednesday: Students on campus (Jesus Time): 6:30-7:45pm.

  • Third Wednesday: Parents and students on campus to learn the faith together (Saint Joseph Workshop): 6:30-7:45pm.

  • Fourth Wednesday: Parents and students at home for reflection, prayer and time together (Family Prayer).
