Saint John’s uses Totus Tuus for our Summer Faith Program. Totus Tuus – (Latin for “Totally Yours”) is a Catholic youth program dedicated to sharing the Gospel and promoting the Catholic faith through catechesis, evangelization, Christian witness, and Eucharistic worship. The goal of Totus Tuus is to help young people grow in the understanding of, and strengthen their faith in, Jesus Christ.

Teachers for the Totus Tuus Program

College age students, two men and two women assigned by the Archdiocese. (Generally one of the men is a seminarian) Volunteers are also essential to the success of the week, please see the registration form for opportunities to help!

This summer your HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT has the opportunity to grow in CATECHESIS,prayer,service, and fellowship iN conjunction with Totus Tuus Summer Program!

Entering 9-12th graders participate in the Evening Totus Tuus Program from 6:30-8:30pm, Sunday - Thursday. KLS Camp for High Schoolers is during the day on Tuesday and Wednesday of Totus Tuus with more opportunities to pray, serve, and have fellowship:

SCHEDULE:

Sunday, Monday, Thursday: Totus Tuus Evening Session only from 6:30-8:30pm.

Tuesday and Wednesday, 8am - 8:30pm:

8:00am:
Arrive at Saint John’s. We gather in the church and do the morning Liturgy of the Hours with twenty minutes of silent prayer. Students learn how to pray, to receive God’s love and why we do this: to share with those we will serve.

8:30am - 5pm:  
Tuesday:
Mass, Adoration, travel to Saint Paul to serve lunch at Catholic Charities, travel to Eagan to pack meals at Feed My Starving Children. In-between serving lunch and packing meals students will spend time in prayer and have time for fellowship.

Wednesday:
Students will be divided into two groups that will take turns as chaperones in the classroom for the Totus Tuus Day Session, help at the rectory, help do yard work for a parishioner, or visit residents at one of our local nursing homes. Mass, Adoration, and afternoon prayer will be sprinkled in-between service projects. Students will have downtime in the afternoon for fellowship.

5pm-6pm:
Make dinner together.

6pm-6:30pm:
Dinner with the Totus Tuus Team.

6:30pm-8:30pm:
Evening session with Totus Tuus Youth Ministers which includes ice breakers, a talk on a topic of faith, and evening prayer. Tuesday does include praise and worship and time for Confession. Thursday there is no topic of faith but dinner and Nerf gun wars with the Totus Tuus Youth Ministers.

COST

Cost is $125 in addition to the fee for Totus Tuus. The cost covers transportation, two dinners, and a t-shirt. Registration for KLS Camp is in the Registration Form for Totus Tuus.

KLS Camp will count toward the Confirmation Retreat Requirement and 8 Service hours for Confirmation. In order to count toward the Retreat Requirement, student has to attend all-day sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday and is only allowed to miss one evening session.
